The history of the Omega Dynamic is a fascinating tale of limitless creativity, bold design, and constant reinvention that makes it one of Omega’s most unique collections in its catalog. Conceived as a fresh and youthful alternative to the more established lines like Seamaster and Speedmaster, the Dynamic family was created to explore aesthetic territories that the Swiss manufacturer rarely ventured into, creating a legacy of three distinct generations that are celebrated by collectors worldwide for their unique character, pioneering ergonomics, and exceptional value for money.
The First Generation: The Birth of a Futuristic Icon
The origin of the Omega Dynamic dates back to 1967, when Omega’s sales director, Robert Forster, and designer Raymond Thévenaz conceived a watch that broke with all aesthetic norms of the time. The study of wrist anatomy determined that the most comfortable shape for a watch was elliptical, and thus a radical design was born, unveiled to the public in 1968 under the name of Omega Genève Dynamic.
