Omega watches had their origins in 1848 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, when Louis Brandt, a young watchmaker, established a small workshop. Initially, Brandt assembled pocket watches using components supplied by local artisans and distributed his creations mainly in European markets. After his death, his sons, Louis-Paul and César Brandt, expanded the business and implemented significant advances in watchmaking.

The birth of the Omega brand
In 1894, the Brandt brothers introduced a system of production with interchangeable parts, a revolutionary innovation for the time. They developed a movement called the Omega caliber, which became so recognized and emblematic that in 1903, they decided to rename the company Omega Watch Co.
