Rolex’s journey began in 1905 in London, when Hans Wilsdorf, a German entrepreneur, and Alfred Davis, his brother-in-law, founded a company to distribute wristwatches. The Rolex trademark was officially registered in 1908.

Wilsdorf chose the name “Rolex” for its short, distinctive sound, making it easy to pronounce in any language and perfect for engraving on a watch. • In 1953, the brand launched the iconic Submariner, the first diving watch with a water resistance of 100 meters, a model that became synonymous with adventure and underwater exploration.
